White Christmas

I am a Florida girl. I am in love with the beach. I've made sandcastles but never a snow angel. It's not that I don't like snow, it's just that there is no snow in Florida and, well, I've never lived anywhere else before. Until now. And this year, I'll be able to have the white Christmas that I've always imagined being so beautiful. Snow will be on the ground at the same time as the holiday songs are playing in the coffee shops. In Korea, everything is classy and tasteful. The music is good (Otis Redding instead of Glee), and the decorations are simply beautiful. Nothing is overdone or tacky.

I was planning on putting some decorations in my apartment to celebrate the holiday - maybe some lights around my window, or a beautiful gold garland - but when I went to the store tonight to have a look around, I decided against it. Maybe it was because a string of 200 lights was $22 instead of the $2 I am used to paying at home. Maybe it was because the garlands looked cheap, and I don't do cheap. Whatever it was, I'll just have to use my imagination this year and enjoy the holidays when I see a pretty Christmas tree through a window, see the lights strung up in the park downtown next to the theater, and sit in the coffee shops and listen to Christmas music that is so beautiful it makes you want to cry.

Merry Christmas. May you experience the holiday season like you've never experienced it before.
