This Sunday is Teacher's Day!
They have a Teacher's Day here! Koreans think of everything. I knew there was a reason I came here. :)
In honor of Teacher's Day, the mother of one of our students gave my co-teacher and I each a gift today. I didn't open it until I got home, partly because there was no time, and also because I'm not into opening gifts in front of other people who did not get a gift.
But when I did open it, I was very touched that someone would be that nice to us foreign teachers. I thought maybe it was a box of cookies or some kind of snack food. But instead, it was a beautiful bottle of face soap that was quite expensive. (The price was printed right on the box.)
Isn't it pretty?
It's called Sulwhasoo and is a 'Liquid Cleansing Soap'
It was very sweet of her, and a bit unexpected because we never see the girl's mother.
So Happy Teacher's Day to every teacher I know. May you have a wonderful Teacher's Day this Sunday, and may your life be filled with the little amazing moments that we all find so precious. Like when our kids learn to read. And when they speak their first complete sentence. And when they actually come to class on time. With their homework completed. :)
