Day 3
Got out the door again about 11:30a and took the bus over to Bondi Beach. It took about an hour to get there because I had to take two buses and then walk for a bit. When I finally did get there, I did some shopping and got myself a few t-shirts, a beach cover/hoodie, and a bag. All of them say Bondi on them. Yay! Exactly what I wanted. After shopping, I walked on Bondi for a bit and then started the Coastal Bondi to Coogee walk. (For pronunciation purposes: bon-die 반다이, and coo-ji 쿠지.)The walk took about 2.5 hours walking slow and with innumerable stops for photos. I stopped at a little cafe along the way to get some fuel, too: $16 worth of water, a ham cheese toastie and a chocolate orange tart. Things in Sydney are overpriced.
When I got to Coogee Beach I was so tired and ready for a nap, that I just walked in the sand over to the street, hopped on a bus and came back to Glebe. I ate dinner at Subway again and then stopped in Glebe Books to check out what all the hype was about before coming back to the hostel to do some laundry, which is going now. I'll finish that up (dryers, yay!) and then head to bed. I leave about 10am tomorrow to head to the airport to fly up to Cairns.
On a side note, Sydney is great but I think I have a bit of culture shock being around so many waygooks. LOL. Who knew? Also, the leaves are starting to fall here. Kind of cool. And this left side of the road driving is hard to wrap my head around. Wonder if ill have any trouble driving when I get back home. I'm so ready to be home next week. I can't wait - I almost wish it was tomorrow.
