It's just that sometimes, life gets in the way.
I joined a gym this week and it's been eating up a lot of my time, not only in the gym, but away as well. I think going after work is the key, because if not I just get tired from being up all night and then waking up early the following morning to work out before work. And I am definitely not a morning person. The gym is good though, I'll do a post on it soon. I want to take a picture or two, but only when it is pretty empty.
I've also been meaning to write about my new most favorite spot in Gwangju, the 5/18 Memorial Park that remembers the May 18, 1980 Gwangju Uprising. On my quest to do something new and different each weekend, I took myself there last Sunday and it was absolutely beautiful. It is a huge park with several smaller and different areas connected by walking paths. There are a few temples throughout the park, and one big memorial for all those who died in the Uprising.
The park is along the subway line in Gwangju, so it was the perfect place to go for very little money. It only cost me W1,200 (about $1) each way on the subway. I took the subway line from my stop at 104 to the park stop at 112 and walked north for two blocks before running into the park. I walked around, found a few smaller parks-within-a-park, and then came across something pretty cool - a memorial temple. The temple was cool, but the views from the top were even better. Check out these pictures. If you want more, click one of the photos on the left to go to my Flickr photostream where you can see all 162 photos I took at the park last week. Some of them are pretty stellar.
