Shopping, of course!
I got paid yesterday and that was worth a celebration in itself! It was my very first paycheck since mid-February when I quit my job in the states so I could come to South Korea. My trip here ended up being delayed about a month, and I stayed with and visited family until it was time to leave at the end of March. (I was originally supposed to fly out at the end of February!)
I've gotten by these past 6 weeks in Korea with only enough money for the essentials, but today I am hailing my very first South Korean taxi (a white one! Because I've learned it's the black taxi's that drive so bad!) and taking myself to E-Mart (E-mar-tuh!) to buy things like curtains to stop the sun from coming in my frosted windows, a lamp so I can have something else besides the wretched overhead light, some sheets that actually FIT my bed, and maybe a bottle of Moscato d'Asti. :) Only the important stuff, you know how it goes.
I also want to try to get downtown and buy a nice pair of [fashion] sneakers, but it's raining as well as a holiday, and I might wait until the weekend when it's sunny and I am certain that the sneaker stores are open. I'm opting for fashion sneakers because I really don't like sneakers, and I want to remain somewhat stylish. But I know they'll be much more comfortable than my flats when I'm doing my daily walking of anywhere from .5 to 3 miles a day. So hopefully I'll be able to find a cute pair.
Off to take myself out! Have a great day, too!
