Merry Christmas everyone! I had a great day today, and I hope you did, too!
So I've decided I'm going to make the most of the next few months in the states. There are two classes at the local technical college that I want to take: pottery and ballroom dancing. One starts Jan 11 and the other Jan 20, and I'll post some pictures on here at some point. At least of the pottery class. I'm not sure yet if I'll stick with the ballroom dancing. I will if there are more singles in the class, even if they're older. But if I'm the only single and everyone shows up with their real-life partner, I'm not sticking around. I don't need the awkward feelings and depressing thoughts in my head.
But I'm definitely looking forward to the pottery class. I just hope there are enough people to allow the class to continue past day one. (You register on day one of the class, but if there are too few registrants, the class fails to launch.) I've always loved art, and while I may not be a Picasso, Dali or Michelangelo, I am a Kate and love what I create. I foresee some creative activities in my South Korean classroom... I'll have to go to the teacher store here before I leave so I can pick out some fun yet creative lessons for the age group(s) I'll be teaching. Little do they know that I'll be having as much fun as the students! :)
Everything I've been thinking about lately has been Korea-oriented. For example, I know that finding shoes in Korea for size 8+ is difficult, so I've been searching for really comfortable, yet light, shoes to bring with me. I also went under-garment shopping the other day while there was a huge sale so I could get more of my favorite styles to last me a good while. I've also been looking at luggage - searching specifically for the lightest yet largest bags. I think I've found the ones, too. Two 28" TravelPro expandable uprights (at roughly 11 lbs each) and a carry-on that will hold my laptop, plus everything I would normally store in a large purse, and other activities to keep me busy on the plane, like my Kindle. (And maybe even the large purse itself.) I found my 'Korea bag' a few weeks ago, too. A light pink Guess purse with crocodile-like material. It's beautiful. As soon as I saw it I knew it was my Korea bag.
Goodnight all, and sweet dreams of South Korea!
