It's June!

June is my absolute favorite month.

It is my favorite for lots of reasons:
   I like the word 'June'. It's pretty.
   It's my birthday month.
   It's my dad's birthday month.
   It's my parent's anniversary month.
   It's a mix of Spring and Summer.
   It's summer vacation.
   The weather is always beautiful with nice breezes, warm days and cool nights.
   It reminds me of what the 'lazy days of summer' should be.
   Jasmine flowers are usually blooming at home in the states.
   Gardenias can usually be found, too.
   It's my birthday month!

I know I mentioned that last one twice. That's okay! I love my birthday. I've always loved it. The 14th of June is a special day because it's mine.

Even though it's still early, I've already purchased my birthday present.

An acoustic guitar! I wanted a fairly inexpensive one because I'm pretty new at the guitar, having only taught myself a few Christmas songs way-back-when on my grandfather's guitar. I got even more of a discount, too, by purchasing it from another expat who was moving back home. It's in great condition and came with a nice case and a few other goodies (capo, strings, strap).

For my actual birthday, Thursday, June 14th, I will be spending it in Daejeon. I will probably go out for dinner and drinks with my sister and brother-in-law, and maybe a few Daejeon friends. After work on Friday, I plan on heading down to Gwangju and seeing all of my friends down there and celebrating in larger fashion on Saturday night. I'm sure it will be an awesome weekend, and I can't wait!
