It's the little things...

I love Korea. I really do. It's helped me to appreciate the little things in life.

Today's story: Extra Special Favorites

I ran to the mart on my street just now to grab a few snacks to take with me to Mokpo tomorrow. A few Vitamin Waters, some Pepero cookies, and some grape chewy candy. The man working tonight was the same man I saw a few nights ago, and tonight he had his four or five year old son with him. It made me happy to see a kid just being a kid. Smiling, laughing, playing a game on his dad's cell phone, running around enjoying himself. Believe it or not, that's a rare sight in Korea. I got to the register and paid for my things, and as I was about to take the bag and leave, the man picked up a package of Ferrero Rocher chocolates and put it in my bag. Service. He remembered me saying the other night that they are my favorite. It was very, very nice of him and it made me smile. Those three little chocolates that happen to be my favorite run about $5 here, so I usually just admire them. Tonight I got them for free. A favorite is made extra special when it's received as a gift. Happy 설날
