I have officially been in Korea for six months and two days.
I left the USA for my journey of finding happiness through travel on March 28, 2011, and because of the time difference, I arrived in Gwangju late at night on the 29th. Six wonderful months have passed since then, and I have learned so much about myself, Korea and what I want to do that I can hardly believe it. It has gone by so fast.
Many people start with a list of things they want to do or accomplish in Korea and often revisit it at certain anniversaries. I do not have such a list. I came here to live, to experience, to be happy... Although I am very much a list person, I feel a list would just complicate things for me and take me right back to where I was. Not knowing what is going to happen tomorrow is wonderful. Not needing to plan for three months from now is everything I thought it would be. Kicking back and watching my tv from the coziness of my own bed is wonderful. Staying up all night because I can is freedom. And sleeping until all hours of the afternoon or evening is not laziness - it's exactly what I want to do.
I'm making friends, I'm doing what I want, and I'm living just for me.
