The Coolest Survey Ever!

I wanted to create a fun activity for my top level students to have fun with in class, and one of our more recent lessons covered surveys. They weren't sure what surveys were, so I explained about polls. A poll or a survey is just a way to collect information by asking questions. I gave a few examples on the board and they were hooked. So as a fun activity, and to help pass the hour and a half of free time I have before this class, I created my own survey: The Coolest Survey Ever. Check it out!

The Coolest Survey Ever

Here are the answers from my two students I have Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Hannah (Nana) and Sophia.

Hannah, 12 years old

1. Her favorite colors are Black and White
2. Her favorite cars are Bugatti's and BMWs (we just had a lesson on the Bugatti Veyron)
3. She likes English and Science
4. Today was Super
5. The coolest part of my day was: that I went to You and I (the school I teach at) and I met Kate teacher and studied and I am doing the coolest survey ever!
6. When I grow up I want to: be a actress because I want to be like famous
7. My favorites: a) Movie: Smurfs 3    b) Book: a book by B2ST member's father   c) Song: B2ST song everything   d) TV Show: B2ST Show   (B2ST is a K-POP music group. The '2' is pronounced 'ee' in Korea, so the name of the group is pronounced 'beast'.)
8. On Sundays I like to: go shopping and buy some clothes, bags and shoes
9. I want to travel to: America and Europe
10: My favorite hobby is: singing, searching about buying things

Sophia, 8 years old

1. Her favorite colors are Green
2. Her favorite car is Chevrolet
3. She likes Science
4. Today was Fun
5. The coolest part of my day was: on my friend's birthday (Saturday) I go to the Lotteria (a Korean restaurant chain similar to McDonald's)
6. When I grow up I want to: be a dentist or a baker
7. My favorites: a) Movie: Harry Potter    b) Book: (no answer)   c) Song: K-Pop - all of it   d) TV Show:  Il bat ee il (Roman character translation of a Korean show name)
8. On Sundays I like to: go to traveling
9. I want to travel to: China or foreign country
10: My favorite hobby is: drawing

The age difference is pretty big, but as you can see, the English skill level is about the same. This is one of my favorite classes to teach because I can just talk normally and have a conversation with them. Sophia is quiet and reserved, but Hannah loves to get up and draw on the board and tell stories.
