Teachers Day in 2011 fell on May 15th, a Sunday. Traditionally, students give their teachers a single Carnation flower to honor their teachers on Teacher's Day. However, in more recent years the traditional gift is no longer in fashion and students bring their teachers other types of gifts.
I was luck enough to receive gifts from four of my students.
Sara-One (we have two Sara's), a lovely and smart six-year old girl in my Spring 3 class, brought me a wonderful gift of a traditional hand-held mirror. It is simply beautiful. Take a look:
Sara-two brought me a lovely (and quite expensive) bottle of 'liquid cleansing foam' (face soap), which you may have seen in a previous post. It works great, by the way.
Hannah, a very active pre-teen in my highest class, brought me an awesome pen. When I write with it hard enough, the pressure on the ball point makes a little metal rod in the pen move up and down, making Stitch (the character from Disney's movie Lilo and Stitch) move up and down and take a bow. It's very cute!
And Sophia, a very proper 8 year old girl who is also in my highest level, brought me a lovely gift bottle of French perfumed hair mist that smells like Rose de Jardin (rose of the garden).
Here is a photo of all the gifts I received, sans the Stitch pen because I write with that at work.
A lovely photo of the lovely things I received from a few very lovely (and thoughtful!) students. :)
good for you! I didn't get anything for teacher's day. :(
