Happy New Year 2012!

Happy New Year 2012!

I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and an even better New Year's Day!

I spent my New Years Eve out to dinner with some great friends at Senior's restaurant. I met Brandi, Yong Suk, Kim and Kristi a few streets over and then walked with them a few blocks downtown where we met Amanda and Diana at the restaurant. And of course, I wore my new silver sparkle pumps that I purchased on Christmas Eve! They're so pretty! And they were made for yours truly. Only I could get away with wearing them!

After a few hours at dinner with the best beef, pork, kimchi, rice and soup in Gwangju, Kristi left to drive back to Naju to celebrate, and the rest of us went to our favorite new downtown club where we rang in the new year!

It was weird not watching the ball drop on tv with Dick Clark and all his makeup of recent years, or any of the other NYE show hosts, but it was great celebrating the New Year in style with good friends. This definitely tops last year's, and it might just be the best NYE I've had yet. And this year I get two chances to celebrate because the Lunar New Year is also celebrated in Korea! It's called Seollal and the first day of the Year of the Dragon is January 23, 2012, which puts the Seollal NYE on Sunday, January 22, 2012. I have another 5-day weekend for that holiday, and I'm already looking forward to it.

What is my New Year's Resolution? Focus on myself. That may sound selfish, but it's exactly what I need right now. I want to travel more, and if everything lines up right, I'll be taking myself on a great vacation in April before I come back to the USA for a few weeks, before heading back to Korea for another year of life in the East. I've accepted a job in Daejeon where I'll be closer to my sister and family in Korea, blood related or not. I have some other things I want to work on, but they're more private and not meant for a public blog. The Year of the Dragon is supposed to be filled with great things for my professional and personal life, and I can't wait to see what's around the next corner!

May 2012 bring the best of everything to everyone I love all over the world!
